On August 31, 2021, officers from the Pasadena Police Department responded to the 1300 block of Navarro Avenue regarding a “Shots Fired” call.

Upon arrival, officers located evidence of a shooting but all of involved parties of the shooting had already left the scene. A few minutes later, the Pasadena Police Department was notified that a 42-year-old Altadena resident had just arrived at a local hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
Detectives from the Pasadena Police Department’s Robbery/Homicide Unit conducted a follow-up investigation that led to the identification of a suspect connected to a local criminal street gang and determining the incident was a car-to-car shooting.
Arrest
On March 24, 2022, the Pasadena Police Department, with the assistance of the US Marshalls Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Criminal Intelligence Unit, apprehended 29–year old Michael Ellis Patillo of Ontario for the above-mentioned shooting. Detectives also executed a search warrant at a residence in Ontario. The operation and arrest led to the recovery of two firearms and the vehicle used during the commission of the August 31, 2021 shooting.
Charges
On March 28, 2022, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed one felony count on Michael Ellis Patillo for Attempted Murder. His bail was set at $1,200,000. Anyone with information about this case is encouraged to contact Pasadena Police.
