The design for the 2024 Rose Parade Float for South Pasadena has been approved and is already under construction.
By News Desk
The design, entitled “Boogie Fever” by Anne Muller, was rendered by artist Renee Hoss-Johnson and will feature animals rocking out to old time vinyl platters to the Sylvers one-hit wonder of the same title. SPTOR has obtained the rights to play the tune royalty-free during the parade, according to committee members.
In keeping with the year’s theme of “Celebrating a World of Music: the Universal Language”, it highlights the spirit of South Pasadena and will have multiple animals playing together amid a lush tropical forest.

Construction of the entirely self-built float is now underway in parking lot of the War Memorial Building at 435 Fair Oaks Ave. Volunteers wishing to help should email construction@sptor.com and those interested in being part of the decorating crew are welcome to sign up starting September 15 at sptor.com.
