Bonnie Armstrong will share about her new inspiring memoir, An Apparently Normal Person. Bonnie’s dissociation became a survival mechanism and catalyst for healing. Bonnie is a well-respected educator and advocate for those living with the impacts of childhood trauma, including dissociative identity disorder and other trauma responses.
Bonnie is a member of Pasadena Village, a nonprofit organization connecting older adults, where she found support in her writing through one of the member-led memoir writing groups. Pasadena Village programming is organized by Villagers in their 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s. Fellow Villager Karen Bagnard worked with Bonnie to plan this event to bring to light often unseen and stigmatized mental health challenges.
