      AMGEN Tour

Bikers entering Pasadena for AMGEN Tour

On Saturday, May 18, Amgen Tour of California will depart Santa Clarita around 9 a.m. and riders are expected to enter Pasadena city limits by noon.

10,000 spectators are expected to gather at Rose Bowl Stadium for the finish. Additionally, Nasa JPL will be holding an open house on both days of the same weekend,

On event day only, the public telephone number to call with questions about street closures, parking, and general event information is: (626) 397-4141. Additional information about the Amgen Tour of California, including public access maps, can be found online at https://www.visitpasadena.com/events/amgen-tour-california/.

      Road Closures and Times

The women’s race is expected to arrive at noon, followed by the men’s race at 1:10 p.m.

Bikers will enter Pasadena via Arroyo Boulevard/Windsor Avenue and will proceed southbound on Arroyo to Rosemont Avenue, where they will drop down into the Rose Bowl area. Riders will complete circuits around the Rose Bowl recreation loop and proceed to an exciting finish along West Drive, adjacent to the iconic and historic Rose Bowl Stadium.

City streets impacted by the race will close to vehicular traffic from approximately 11:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Some streets around the Rose Bowl recreation loop will close to all traffic by 8 p.m. on Friday, May 17. The loop will remain closed following the conclusion of the race through 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, for the first-ever Rose Pedal, an open-streets bike ride, sponsored by the Rose Bowl Stadium.

      Event Day Detours

Motorists are encouraged to use Lincoln Avenue to the east, Linda Vista to the west, Woodbury Road or the 210 freeway to the north, and Colorado Boulevard or the 134 freeway to the south.

Parking, Gold Line and Bike Travel Options

Parking for the Amgen Tour will be available in Lots H and I at the Rose Bowl Stadium. The parking fee is $10 per vehicle. Spectators and participants are encouraged to ride their bikes or travel to the Rose Bowl using alternate transportation. There will be a self-serve/self-lock bike parking zone in Lot K of the Rose Bowl. The Memorial Park Gold Line station is conveniently located within 1 mile of the Rose Bowl Stadium, and Pasadena Transit Route 51 buses will run every 22 minutes from the station to Seco Street/Lincoln Avenue (about a 10-minute walk to the stadium).

      No Parking

The Amgen Tour route will be posted with temporary “No Parking” signs. Vehicles that are parked on the course during the restricted times will be towed and regular storage/impound charges will apply. Any cars parked along the course after 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 18 (unless earlier restrictions are posted on signs), will be towed. All other parking restrictions will apply.

      Freeway Ramp Closures

The 210 freeway ramps at Arroyo Boulevard/Windsor Avenue will be closed between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on event day. To access alternate freeway ramps in this vicinity, use Lincoln Avenue, where both east and westbound ramps will remain open.

      JPL Open House

On Saturday, May 18, and Sunday, May 19, NASA JPL will host its annual open house from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. You must have tickets to attend. To expedite travel to JPL, motorists are encouraged to use the Foothill ramps on the 210 freeway.
