The Altadena Walk Club will host a special Father’s Day Community Celebration on Sunday, June 21, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am in Altadena.

      By News Desk

Founded by Mathew Rahban, the Altadena Walk Club is a post-fire community walking group dedicated to recovery through movement and connection. The club meets at Unincorporated Coffee on the third Sunday of each month and welcomes participants of all ages and fitness levels.

This month’s gathering will feature a Father’s Day celebration hosted by the Rahban Family in partnership with Unincorporated Coffee and Altadena Cookie Company.

Participants will meet at Unincorporated Coffee at 9:30 am before embarking on a casual 30- to 40-minute round-trip walk through the community. The group will then return to Unincorporated Coffee for the celebration.

Attendees will receive a complimentary drink from Unincorporated Coffee and a cookie from Altadena Cookie Company following the walk. The event will also feature music from local Altadena DJ Shane Burns, while Park on the Move will provide games and activities for children.

Congresswoman Judy Chu and California State Senator Sasha Renée Pérez are expected to attend the celebration.

“Our family is honored to host this Father’s Day celebration and create an opportunity for neighbors, families, and friends to spend time together and celebrate the fathers and father figures in our community,” the Rahban Family said in a statement.

The Rahban Family owns and operates a Pasadena-based construction business that supports Altadena’s recovery and rebuilding efforts following the Eaton Fire.
