The Altadena Town Council will hold its next regular meeting on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the Altadena Community Center, located at 730 E. Altadena Drive.

      By News Desk

The meeting will open with formalities, including a flag salute led by Armen Balikyan-Bekian, roll call by Recording Secretary Kim Yu, and approval of the evening’s agenda by Vice Chair Nic Arnzen.

Town Council officers, Chair Victoria Knapp, Vice Chair Arnzen, Treasurer Milissa Marona, and Corresponding Secretary Connor Cipolla, will deliver their regular reports. The Council will also vote to approve minutes from the previous meeting held on September 16, 2025.

Public safety updates will follow, featuring reports from Captain Ethan Marquez of the Altadena Sheriff’s Station, Officer Keller of the California Highway Patrol, and Maria Grycan, Community Services Liaison for the Los Angeles County Fire Department, Division 3.

Community representatives will then provide additional updates, including Guillermo Portillo from L.A. County Parks, Bree Jensen from the Eaton Fire Collaborative, Anders Corey on the ARRC CORE ADU Project, and Josh Svensson from Public Works, who will discuss local emergency preparedness efforts.

A special presentation will be given by Charlene Contreras, Branch Director for L.A. County Public Health, who will discuss a public survey regarding the possible extension of construction hours in the area.

Under committee reports, Land Use Chair Diane Marcussen will present two action items for consideration:

      • A proposed McDonald’s rebuild and expanded drive-thru at 1306 N. Altadena Drive (CUP RPPL2023004561)
      • A conditional use permit for Bar Betsy, located at 871 E. Mariposa Street (CUP RPPL2024-003530), to serve beer and wine

Both items will include opportunities for public comment.

Other committee updates will include election candidate statements, holiday planning, education initiatives, and the Altadena Eaton Fire Recovery Fund Advisory report.

Residents are encouraged to attend and share their input during the General Public Comment period. Those wishing to speak may submit a comment card before or during the meeting; remarks are limited to two minutes.

The meeting will conclude with census tract reports and adjournment.
