In a powerful display of community solidarity, the Altadena Rotary Club recently hosted the Lakewood Rotary Club for a joint meeting.
By Rena Kurlander
The initiative began when Lakewood Rotary Club President Valarie Frost reached out to Mark Mariscal, executive secretary of the Altadena Rotary Club, to check on how the community had been coping since the January 7th fire. Recognizing the ongoing need for recovery, Frost suggested moving her club’s meeting to Altadena, bringing both clubs together to support fire survivors.
On Thursday, February 19, 2026, the two clubs met, and the Lakewood Rotary Club presented the Altadena Rotary Club with a generous donation of $1,950 to aid in recovery efforts.
Since the devastating fire, the Altadena Rotary Club has been working tirelessly to support survivors, offering both financial assistance and emotional support.
In response to the continued need, the club has set up a dedicated donation page for those who wish to contribute to recovery efforts. All donations will be used exclusively for helping those impacted by the Eaton Fire, with funds kept separate from other club projects to ensure transparency.
