As Altadena continues its recovery following the Eaton Fire, a new community event is offering residents a chance to reconnect through recreation and shared experiences.

Altadena Pickle Play will take place Saturday, July 11, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at iPickle Arcadia, providing two hours of open pickleball play for members of the Altadena community. Four courts will be reserved for the event, and players of all skill levels are welcome to participate.
Participants are asked to bring their own paddle and ball. Attendance will be limited to 30 players to help reduce wait times between games. Tickets are $5 per person and are available through Eventbrite.
The event is hosted by siblings Alex, Mathew, and Natayla Rahban, of Rahban Development.
Altadena Pickle Play follows the siblings’ earlier community initiative, the Altadena Walk Club, a monthly walking group launched after the Eaton Fire to encourage neighbors to connect through movement and community engagement.
Inspired by Natayla Rahban’s passion for pickleball, the siblings created Altadena Pickle Play as another opportunity for residents to gather and strengthen community ties.
“We hope Altadena Pickle Play becomes a fun tradition that gives neighbors a chance to stay active, meet new people, and continue strengthening the sense of community that makes Altadena so special,” said Natayla Rahban.
Organizers hope the event will provide a welcoming space for residents to build new connections while continuing the community spirit that has emerged throughout Altadena’s recovery.
