In the aftermath of a devastating fire that destroyed the Altadena Music Theatre and damaged the homes of numerous performers, directors, and producers, the heart of the community has remained unwavering. Now, Altadena Music Theatre (AMT) is excited to announce its first public gathering since the fires—a free, celebratory event titled A Cabaret Soirée, to honor the resilience, connection, and enduring power of theatre.

      By News Desk

Founded on the belief that the arts unite people in both joy and hardship, AMT has relied on the strength of its community, artists, and supporters during this challenging period of recovery. While the fire claimed the physical building, it could not destroy the music, the stories, or the shared commitment to creating and healing through art.

“A Cabaret Soirée” will serve as a reunion for the Altadena community, inviting both longtime supporters and new friends to reconnect through music and performance. The event will begin at 5:00 pm with a cocktail hour, followed by a special screening of AMT’s 2023 production of Cabaret, originally staged at Farnsworth Park. The evening will close with an after-party piano bar, where performers and guests alike will have the opportunity to mingle, sing, and continue celebrating the magic of live theatre.

“This soirée is about more than just a performance,” said Sarah Azcarate, Founder and Artistic Director of AMT. “It’s about reminding ourselves and our community that even after tremendous loss, art still has the power to gather us, lift us, and help us move forward together.”

The event will take place on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at the Manoukian Performing Arts Center in Pasadena, beginning with a VIP cocktail hour at 5:00 pm, followed by the screening at 6:00 pm. Admission is free, though an RSVP is required.

For more information about AMT, or to RSVP, visit altadenamusictheatre.com or RSVP directly at Zeffy.com.

In Altadena, the curtain rises once more, not because the road has been easy, but because the music, the community, and the spirit of theatre are stronger than ever.
