Altadena Music Theatre will return to the stage with its 2026 season opener, Grease, marking the company’s return to Altadena after being displaced from the Charles Farnsworth Amphitheater by the Eaton Fire.

      By Rena Kurlander

Opening night is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 6, at 8:00 pm at Mountain View Mausoleum, 2300 N. Marengo Ave. in Altadena.

Featuring a book, music and lyrics by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, Grease is directed by Oliver Azcarate, with musical direction by Chris Wade and choreography by Melissa Schade.

The cast includes Ruby Lewis, Bryce Ryness, Eric Stanton Betts, Cheyenne Wells, Monica Azcarate, Lauren Barette, Kir Beaux, Eugene Boyd, James Byous, Tara Carbone, Rio Colino, Romy Evans, Jake Ewan, Jalen Friday, Kasey Hentz, Brennan Hilger, Harmony Jones, Nancy Landis, Justin Anthony Long, Chelsea Maker, Robert Manion and Scarlett Sheppard.

The 2026 season marks the company’s return to production after losing its longtime performance venue. Altadena Music Theatre will stage both Grease and Little Shop of Horrors in a temporary outdoor theater at Mountain View Mausoleum, featuring custom-built staging and audience seating.

Producing Artistic Director Sarah Azcarate invited the community to attend performances as the organization launches its new season and continues its effort to bring live theater back to Altadena.

The 2026 season runs Aug. 6 through Sept. 13 at Mountain View Mausoleum, 2300 N. Marengo Ave., Altadena, CA 91001. Buy tickets at this link.
