The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), in coordination with FEMA and the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation, has begun restoration work on a section of the Altadena Golf Course previously used for wildfire debris staging and reduction.
By News Desk
The area, designated as a Temporary Debris Staging and Reduction (TDSR) site, played a key role in post-wildfire recovery operations. Debris deliveries to the site officially ended on July 3, 2025, allowing contractors to begin demobilization and safely transport remaining materials to appropriate landfills.
Over the coming months, crews will work to restore the affected portion of the golf course to its original condition. Restoration activities will include pavement repairs, irrigation system restoration, soil replacement, grading, and new sod installation.
To help minimize dust and disruption to neighboring properties during this phase, mesh screening will remain in place through approximately mid-November. Residents should expect ongoing construction traffic and the presence of heavy equipment on-site as the project progresses.
Restoration is expected to be completed by the end of 2025, at which point the site will be formally returned to the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation.
