The session will feature hands‑on practice with radios, giving attendees an opportunity to learn how to operate different models and understand their communication limits. Participants who own a radio are encouraged to charge it beforehand and bring it along; while not all radio types can communicate with one another, organizers expect a variety of models to be available for practice.
Additional agenda items include updates on upcoming classes, drills, and training opportunities, both virtual and in‑person, offered by CERT and partner organizations. Attendees may also receive further information about Best Notify, including answers to outstanding questions and discussion about whether the group will adopt it for communication.
Organizers noted that changes to the meeting’s time or location may be coming in June or July, and early details may be shared during the session.
Altadena CERT emphasizes that everyone is welcome, regardless of prior experience. The group encourages residents to attend, learn, and get involved in local preparedness efforts.
