The meeting will take place from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Council Chambers at Alhambra City Hall, located at 111 South First Street.
City officials said the event will provide an opportunity for community members to learn more about the planned mobility improvements connected to the 710 Stub, Fremont Avenue, Atlantic Boulevard, and Garfield Avenue interchange along Interstate 10.
The announcement follows a meeting held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, between Mayor Jeff Maloney, Vice-Mayor Adele Andrade-Stadler, project team staff, and Caltrans District 7 executives. During the meeting, officials discussed the development of the city’s 710 Mobility Improvement Projects and future coordination efforts.
According to the city, Caltrans committed to remaining a partner in Alhambra’s mobility improvement initiatives.
“The 710 Mobility Improvements Projects provide an exciting opportunity to restore the community’s fabric, remove the freeway to nowhere, reduce cut-through traffic, improve safety, and support future bicycle and pedestrian improvements,” Mayor Maloney said in a statement. “The investments are a commitment to not only strengthening and enhancing Alhambra, but also ensuring a better quality of life for community members.”
The city said the 710 Mobility Improvement Projects are funded through Measure R under the administration of the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
