On Sunday, April 28, 2024 the Cities of Alhambra, San Gabriel, and South Pasadena will again be connected via five miles of car-free streets. The public is invited to safely walk, bike, skate, scoot, roll, and explore the three distinct communities.

       By News Desk

The Active Streets event (also known as 626 Golden Streets) is a free, family-friendly “ciclovia” linking the historic San Gabriel and South Pasadena Mission Districts with downtown Alhambra. People of all ages and backgrounds are invited to enjoy the day.

The festivities will kick off at 8:20 am with an official Opening Ceremony at South Pasadena City Hall (1414 Mission Street). The 626 Run, a family-friendly 5K Fun Run, will follow at 8:30 am. Each downtown district will feature an Activity Hub with live music and artists, community organizations, green vendors, and family-friendly games. GoSGV E-bike test ride zones will be available in the South Pasadena and San Gabriel hubs.

Registration is not required.  Attendees can start and stop at any point along the route, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Participants are encouraged to enjoy the day by foot, bike, skate, skateboard, scooter, or any human-powered vehicle. For a route map and more info, visit activestreets.org.

Active Streets Mission-to-Mission is made possible by Metro Los Angeles, hosted by the SGVCOG, organized by ActiveSGV, and facilitated by the Cities of San Gabriel, Alhambra, and South Pasadena.
