City officials say the campaign highlights the broader impact of litter on the environment, quality of life, and the local economy. “Litter affects our environment, our quality of life, and even our local economy,” said Mayor Jeff Maloney. “This campaign is about empowering residents, businesses, and visitors alike to take pride in our community and work together to keep Alhambra beautiful.”
Throughout April, the city is hosting a series of sustainability-focused events designed to bring the community together while encouraging environmental stewardship. Organizers hope these activities will inspire residents to adopt more sustainable habits and actively participate in keeping the city clean.
Community members are encouraged to take simple but impactful actions, such as properly disposing of trash, recycling, and compost, reducing and reusing materials, and picking up litter when they see it. Residents can also report litter issues through the city’s website or the GoAlhambra mobile app, and share their efforts online using the hashtag #KeepAlhambraClean.
Several eco-friendly events are scheduled במהלך the month, including a Neighborhood Clean-Up Day, an Arbor Day celebration at Almansor Park, and an Eco Fair held during the city’s Farmers Market. These events aim to build momentum for the campaign while fostering a shared sense of pride and responsibility among community members.
City leaders say the initiative is ultimately about collective action. By encouraging everyday participation, the “Be Green, #KeepAlhambraClean” campaign seeks to create a cleaner, more sustainable Alhambra for all.
