      ALHAMBRA – ColoradoBoulevard.net:

From late May to June, ActiveSGV and the Alhambra Police Department will teach you how to bike safely on city streets.

      By News Desk

Bringing your own bicycle is recommended for these three events:

      Bike Safety for Beginners

      Saturday, May 21, 10:30 am – 12:00 pm, Alhambra Library, 101 S. First Street.

Do you want to make bicycling part of your daily travel routine, but you’re not sure where to start? This will be a 1 1/2 hour, in person, class that will help you improve your bicycling skills and show you how to ride on city streets safely. You will also learn the rules of the road, how to plan your route, and tips and tricks to make bicycling for everyday travel safe and convenient. The Alhambra Police Department will also hand out helmets for kids (limited supplies, child must be present).

      Bike Safety for Experienced Riders

Saturday, May 28, 10:30 am – 12:30 pm, Almansor Park, 800 S. Almansor Street (near basketball courts).

This will be a 2-hour Rules of the Road class that will help you learn how to bike on the city streets safely. We will teach you the rules of the road and we will also practice on bike skills to make you a better rider. The Alhambra Police Department will also hand out helmets for kids (limited supplies, child must be present).

      Bike Safety for Street Riding

Saturday, June 4, 10:30 am – 1pm, Alhambra Park, 500 North Palm Avenue.

Do you want to be more comfortable and confident when cycling on city roads? This Streets Skills Class is a free 2 ½ hour class for adults and teens to practice safe riding with a group of beginning cyclists. You’ll learn cycling etiquette, practice riding in a real-world setting, and make pit stops to review best practices while riding.
