The event, titled Housing for All: How Does Housing Get Built? is being hosted by the LA Forward Institute, Eastside Housing for All and Alhambra Urbanists. Organizers say the session is intended for residents who support expanding access to housing but want to better understand the public policy, planning and governmental processes behind new development.
The featured speaker will be Jed Leano, a Claremont City Councilmember and senior policy advisor for Inner City Law Center. Leano will draw on his experience working both inside and outside government to explain the systems and decisions that shape housing construction.
Organizers describe the event as an introductory conversation and an opportunity for residents to begin learning more about housing policy while building connections with others in the community.
The gathering will include a light dinner and will take place from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, September 30, at Iona Work Spaces, 1500 W. Alhambra Road, Alhambra, CA 91801.
Residents interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP through the event registration link.
