San Gabriel Valley residents interested in riding an e-bike but discouraged by the cost have two new opportunities through GoSGV: reduced-price e-bike memberships and vouchers to help purchase select e-cargo bikes.

The reduced membership program offers income-eligible residents in qualifying communities access to e-bikes at significantly lower rates. A City Commuter e-bike membership is available for $75 for 12 months with a $125 refundable deposit. Cargo and specialty e-bikes, designed for hauling groceries, transporting children, or replacing car trips, are available for $105 for a three-month membership.
Available cargo and specialty models include the Urban Arrow Cargo, Benno Boost, Benno Remi Demi XL, and Rad Trike.
Residents may qualify if they live in South El Monte, El Monte, Avocado Heights, Rosemead, South San Gabriel, San Gabriel, Alhambra, or Monterey Park, or if they meet income eligibility requirements or receive public assistance.
GoSGV is also offering $2,000 vouchers toward the purchase of select e-cargo bikes for San Gabriel Valley residents. The vouchers can be redeemed at participating retailers including Around the Cycle in Pasadena, The Cub House in San Marino, Velo Pasadena in Pasadena, SELA Bicycle Center in Bell, and Propel Bikes through its online store.
A limited number of purchase vouchers remain available, and interested residents are encouraged to complete the online interest form.
The programs aim to make e-bikes more accessible for residents looking for affordable transportation options while reducing vehicle use and supporting everyday trips such as grocery shopping, school drop-offs, and commuting.
GoSGV is funded in part and co-managed by the Southern California Association of Governments through Regional Early Action Program 2021 grant funding from the California Department of Housing and Community Development. Additional funding is provided through the Metro ExpressLanes Net Toll Revenue Program.
