An abandoned two-story residence on the 700 block of East Villa Street became engulfed in flames at 7:39 pm on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023, prompting a swift response from Pasadena Police and Fire.

Pasadena Fire personnel executed a commendable and rapid effort to extinguish the fire while the police managed traffic and pedestrian control.
Firefighters subdued the flames within 25 minutes, averting the risk of the fire spreading to the towering trees and neighboring homes.
The residence was found to be boarded up, vacant with no occupants inside. Given the circumstances, an arson investigator promptly arrived at the scene. Anyone with information about this case is encouraged to contact the Pasadena Police:
