INSIDE OUR SCHOOLS
Marshall Fundamental’s advanced drama class was elated to present a fun-filled day of magic and fairy tales!
By Minke Bartholomew
The Elementary Outreach Event consisted of three short plays, all of which were kid-friendly and a little silly. Groups of 1st through 4th graders from three local elementary schools; Daniel Webster, Longfellow, and Norma Combs had the pleasure of watching some of Marshall Fundamental middle and high school students embrace their inner kid and put on a great show. All shows were student directed, and all technical aspects were also overseen by students.
As the elementary students arrived, they were greeted by Marshall Fundamental students with smiles and high fives, then directed through various theatrical voice and movement exercises.
Plays
The first play detailed the adventure of seven witches as they searched for their missing cats. They received help from different creatures of the forest, and had to figure out how to convince their furry friends to come home. The second play was about the different months of the year, and what happens when one refuses to do their job. This play stressed the importance of teamwork and doing your part. The last play followed the Princess of Candyland as she searched for her missing pet, the Gumdrop Dragon. She called on different friends for help, and her kind-heartedness helped save the day.
All three plays were heartwarming and put smiles on the faces of our guests. The shows were held at 8:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. in the Little Theater.
