In order to set up a temporary dog park, the city will use $49,000 from the city’s coffers.

      By Melissa Michelson

The “Paw Pup Dog Park” will be open “from dawn to dusk” from September 5 to November 5 for a two-month study cycle to assess whether it is viable and used.

According to the images in the council’s packet, 6000 square feet will be fenced off at at the upper parking lot of Almansor Park, specifically at Almansor and Corto, to create an area for small dogs, and a larger area for large dogs.  There will be a few benches for dog owners and a hydration station for the dogs.
