All those who love fantasy will be pleased to know that on our local hills there is a symbol of an event that is commemorated around the world today!

It is a cross. and it stands on a rise overlooking the national forest fire station on Angeles Crest Highway.
Behind it are two identical upright poles which, with cross-pieces nailed to them, would be crosses too. Imaginative readers looking at the photo will have no difficulty seeing in this little group a prototype of the crosses of Jesus and the two robbers who were said to have been crucified with him.
Coming back to earth, it is apparent that all three are just utility poles. It is ironic that although all trails have been closed because the forest service does not want people to come too close together physically, this rough symbol of one of the world’s major religions is urging them to come closer together in spirit.
It is a nice thought for Good Friday, isn’t it?
P.S. You do not have to be a Christian to like this symbolism, of course; for the record, I am an agnostic.
