Eighty artists, including fourteen newly juried, will display and sell their works of art at the 55th Annual Sierra Madre Art Fair.
Mediums include oil paintings, jewelry, watercolors, glass, wood, metal, wearable art, photography, pottery, ceramics, mixed media and weaving.
Featured Artist this year is Karen McLean-McGaw, and her “Estuary Reflections” watercolor will appear on all posters, post cards, flyers, and other promotional materials.
What to expect
- Live Music will be featured throughout the weekend in the band shell and on the southeast lawn. In the Band Shell on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. – Northeast LA Jazz Group and from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. – Natalie Clark Music from Scotland. On Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. – Severin Browne and Friends (Original songs and American Pop Music) and from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. – Steve Trovato and Tim Kobza, Guitars and Vocals (Jazz-Rock-Country-Blues).
- On the Southeast Lawn on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon – Luckpenny (Irish) and from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. – Evan Marshall Mandolin Maestro. On Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon — Banna Beag Mall (Irish) and from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. – Jean Sudbury (eclectic display of Continental music).
- Food vendors will offer a variety of food and drinks. Scheduled to participate are Taquito Lover, Korean BBQ, the Gourmet Genie Food Truck, Sweet Beginnings and Hawaiian Honey Cones.
- The Friends of the Library will have a booth selling their popular sweet ‘quick’ breads and the Sierra Madre Historical Preservation Society will be selling their famous lemonade made from rangpur limes.
- For the children, instructors from the Creative Arts Group have planned a special craft activity — making flower bouquets with different colors and shapes of paper.
- A Wine & Beer Garden on the front lawn of the Park that will be open Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- A Silent Auction of 40 artists’ one-of-a-kind pieces will give you an opportunity to bid on beautiful artwork while supporting the Library.
The 55th Annual Sierra Madre Art Fair, sponsored by the Friends of the Sierra Madre Library, will be held in Memorial Park, 222 West Sierra Madre Blvd., on Saturday, May 6, from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Sunday, May 7, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
